Snipe shooters on Cors Caron The Bothy ( Y Bwthyn) Dolbeudiau Driven Shooting
The company lets shooting rights to two local syndicate shoots, one at Trawsgoed and another near Tregaron. However, we also let rough shooting days to parties of guns and can offer a memorable long weekend or a week long shooting holiday.
We specialise in walked up and rough shooting where the variety of game is more important than numbers. Accommodation can be arranged at local hotels, although we strongly recommend Brynarth Guesthouse: www.brynarth.co.uk near Trawsgoed for shooting parties as well as Y Talbot in Tregaron: www.ytalbot.com . During your stay it is quite possible to bag pheasant, partridge, mallard, widgeon, teal, snipe, woodcock, hare, rabbit, pigeon and occasionally geese.
Most shooting days include lunch either in the field or in a farm building. The bothy (y bwthyn) at Dolbeudiau Farm has an open fire.
Top game shot, Adam Fiennes, says of the shooting on the Tregaron Bog: "My favourite snipe-shooting is walked-up. It requires instinctive shooting with the need to be constantly alert. often crossing difficult ground. The Tregaron Bog in West Wales is one of those amazing, lonely places with which I associate the screech of departing snipe and a shocking cartridge-to-kill ratio". The Field, January 2010
