Fishing for wild brown trout                                                      The River Ystwyth - ideal conditions for sewin (sea-trout)

The Trawsgoed Estate owns some 2 miles of single (south) bank fishing on the River Ystwyth between Trawsgoed Bridge and Llanafan Bridge. This fishing is let to a local angling association but the estate has reserved rods which can be available to those taking accommodation or simply wishing to fish the river.

We also have fishing on the River Teifi at Dolbeudiau and Ty Gwyn Farm, Pontrhydfendigaid. The Teifi here is narrow and very clear and there are wild brown trout which can be caught on the fly. This stretch of the Teifi was once described by the well-known fisherman Arthur Oglesby as The ‘Welsh Test' due to the clarity and quality of its water. The estate also owns several upland lakes and can arrange for permits to fish the chain of lakes forming the nearby Teifi Pools.
