Trawsgoed Estates Limited, incorporated in 2009, manages the remaining elements of the Trawsgoed (Crosswood) Estate in Ceredigion, formerly Cardiganshire. This historic estate, the property of the Vaughan family, Earls of Lisburne, extended to 42,000-acres in 1890 and was at that time the second largest landed estate in Wales.
Today the company manages a diverse portfolio of assets, including residential and agricultural holdings, property in community use as well as mineral and sporting rights. There are also areas of common land and land suitable for renewable energy projects.
The property portfolio extends over a wide area of Mid-Ceredigion: from the Ystwyth valley, to Cors Caron in the foothills of the Cambrian Mountains, and across to the Tywi valley. Much of the land area here is registered Common Land including Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The company works closely with a number of national organisations in Wales, to protect habitats and conserve wildlife. The estate includes agricultural land on and adjoining Cors Caron National Nature Reserve, as well as Common Land areas, where the company is working with the commoners to improve management practices to enable moorland regeneration.
Trawsgoed Estates is committed to the sustainable management and development of its property assets through diversified enterprise. Our aims are:-
